David Karofsky has close to 20 years of experience coaching individuals and working with companies to excel, grow and outperform their competition. He received his A.B. from Bowdoin College – with a major in Sociology and a minor in Women’s Studies – and his Ed.M. from Boston University in Counseling Psychology, with a focus on performance enhancement.
After a year working with juvenile offenders in a state correctional facility, David entered the counseling and corporate consulting fields working on program development, design and senior management team alignment. Having grown up in a business family, his interest in family business consulting was launched with his course work in family business dynamics at the Cambridge Center for Creative Enterprise.
Recognizing the need to understand the intricacies of business, David attended Northeastern University’s College of Business Administration where he was awarded a full academic scholarship and received his MBA with a concentration in marketing while working as a teaching assistant for undergraduate business courses. David’s subsequent career experience in real estate, management consulting and information technology have provided experience in career planning, sales, business development, and marketing. He has helped companies drive revenue growth, increase market share and become leaders in their industries. During his 9 years in IT, David wrote numerous white papers, created webcasts, developed major group presentations, and traveled the world as a corporate trainer and specialist in competitive marketing.
David has helped corporate executives develop superior listening and communication skills in their pursuit of becoming more effective leaders. He is trained in ropes course facilitation and team building skills as well as at the executive level in Executive Team Building, Strategic Decision Making, Effective Communication, Managing People, Matrix Management, and Performance Enhancement.
The recipient of multiple achievement awards, David has been a guest speaker internationally and is a mentor to current and former MBA students at Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Business and serves on the Marketing Career Track Advisory Board. He is a founding member and chair of the Boston chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization’s Young Adult Forum, member of the Family Firm Institute where he holds certificates in Family Wealth and Family Business Advising, and a former member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Men’s Associates at Hebrew SeniorLife. Married for 15 years, David and his wife, Jennifer, and their 2 children reside in Framingham, Massachusetts.
